Collaborative Residency at Wigan Market with Helen Mathers. Supported by Down To Earth.

We undertook a three month residency at Wigan Market at a point just before the 40 year old building is abandoned and demolished and the market is moved to a new location. We worked with passing shoppers and stall holders to create daily zines, documenting incidental moments of the market from that day. The collection forming a snapshot archive of the market and the people who use it. The project was as much about the engagement and conversational exchange in the moment as it was about the elements the participants chose to record.
